Describe Victor’s experience with lightning.  How was it a turning point in his life?

  1. Victor was astonished by the lightning. He wanted to figure out what electricity could do to other things or objects. It was a turning point of his life because all he wanted to do was to understand what electricity could really do. From that day on he spent most of his time studying lightning or electricity. He even wanted to see if he could bring life to an inanimate object.

  2. The lightning amazed Victor it made him interested in something more realistic. instead of reading books. so it turned his life kinda upside down. Its just like if you were reading a book, then someone puts a computer in your face and you just drop the book and go online. Thats what kinda happened to Victor. He was so used to reading books and studying hard and just that one storm and lightning turned his life around.

  4. i agree with masi. He was interested and wondered what lightning could do to other things. He knew that it was some sort of energy but did not know the cause or source. So in an attempt to create lightning, he instead captures it or attracts it with his machines and channels it to his creation. or thats what i know happens =]

  5. Elizabeth and Victor grow up together as best friends. Victor’s friendship with Henry Clerval, a schoolmate and only child, flourishes as well, and he spends his childhood happily surrounded by this close domestic circle. i agree with joe that he was so used to reading books and studying hard and just that one storm and lightning turned his life around.

  7. I think Victor's experience with lightning made him more curious about it. I think when he was 15 and he was watching the storm, he wanted to know more about it than he already knew. I think he wanted to know where the energy came from. I think it's a turning point in his life because he became more curious about lightning and somehow it led to him studying about life. And that's what the story is about.

  8. I also agree with the example Joseph gave. Instead of continuing reading his books, when he saw the lightning, it kind of changed what he wanted to know. So he studied on something else.
