Victor is shocked by Clerval’s death. Does Victor’s reaction seem appropriate or do you think Victor should have anticipated the creature killing his friend? Explain your answer.

  1. victor's reaction was that he falls into convulsions and suffers a long illness i think he reacted the right way because he knew henry clerval(best friend) before he met frannkeinstein

  2. I don't really think Victor could have anticipated this. I mean, the monster is smart. So, I think Victor would have thought that the monster wouldn't kill Clearval because that would make Victor mad. And if the creature does that, then Victor would be mad. And the creature really wants another companion so he would want to be on Victor's good side.

  3. I agree with Ziggy, in a way he did act right because Victor knew Henry before Frankenstein.

  4. victor did not at all anticipate this. he knew the monster wanted revenge but not this way. he probably was thinking that the monster would make him suffer physically, like torture him or kill him slowly but the monster had other things in mind.
